    UFC purses are pathetic.

Cain Velasquez is the heavyweight champion of the world and he’s getting 400,000 to fight tonight?

This isn’t even one of those “boxing is soooo much better than MMA” arguments, but its a shame how much more boxers are making than their MMA counterparts.

    Wladimir…

From what I’ve read though, fighters across a UFC card get a higher level of pay compared to fighters on a boxing card. Also, UFC fighters get backroom bonuses alongside their contract pay. I read that this isn’t the case with boxing. What your contract is, is what you get paid.

Also, a UFC PPV buys are not as high as boxing, as well as the UFC having to do all costs of production, promo and administration.

It’s not as clear cut as UFC fighters are simply getting ripped off.

Out of interest, I would like to see a pay break down of a boxing card compared to a UFC card. I feel that would be more of a fair comparison

    Don’t be that guy.

“When you look at who gets the money, at the end of the day, it’s disproportionately Zuffa and disproportionately not the fighter,” Northwestern University labor law professor Zev Eigen told Bleacher Report, calling the UFC contract the worst he’s seen in the sports or entertainment fields. “None of these fighters are represented by a professional association or a union. There’s nothing that sets a minimum or basic standard below which the company can’t go.

The fact that we haven’t seen at least one MMA fighter show some stacks, lets you know they ain’t getting paid

Wladimir Klitschko is one of the most unpopular champions (in terms of people simply not giving a fuck that he exists), and this dude would not even bother getting out of bed for $400,000. He’s getting $10-15 million dollars per bout.

The UFC rips off their fighters big time, and its a shame because their reigns as PPV draws are pretty short compared to boxers.

Even the bums that fight Wladimir Klitschko are getting at least $2 million dollars. More than Cain Velasquez makes in a year.

This is what happens when one promotion rules the entire sport.
